"Open your heart," she said gently. "Someone will come. Someone will come for you. But first you must open your heart."

Synopsis:
Once, in a house on Egypt Street, there lived a china rabbit named Edward Tulane. The rabbit was very pleased with himself, and for good reason: he was owned by a girl named Abilene, who treated him with the utmost care and adored him completely. And then, one day, he was lost.

This was the book that got me to love reading, I haven't read it in years though. But I like the fact that, even though it's meant for kids, its main character is a rabbit; not some human, alien, etc. I kind of feel in debt to Kate, without her I wouldn't have discovered that books didn't suck. :)
