I first found this book in 6th grade; in one of the book fair catalogs. I had no idea what it was about all I knew was that the cover looked frickin' cool. So after about a month it finally arrived, along with Gamer Girl by Mari Mancusi. And there's how I first discovered Matched.. :)
"Open your heart," she said gently. "Someone will come. Someone will come for you. But first you must open your heart."
Synopsis:
Once, in a house on Egypt Street, there lived a china rabbit named Edward Tulane. The rabbit was very pleased with himself, and for good reason: he was owned by a girl named Abilene, who treated him with the utmost care and adored him completely. And then, one day, he was lost.
------
This was the book that got me to love reading, I haven't read it in years though. But I like the fact that, even though it's meant for kids, its main character is a rabbit; not some human, alien, etc. I kind of feel in debt to Kate, without her I wouldn't have discovered that books didn't suck. :)
"We need hope or else we cannot endure." -The Prince of Merchants Synopsis: When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever. ------
Man, I LOVE this series and Sarah J. Maas. She is a genius!! If you haven't read any of her books... well that's just stupid. You must read her books. :)
"Beautiful. And ugly. The world is always both." -Deuce Oaks
